About the directory
Is LocalCardShopsNearMe really free?
Yes. Browsing the directory, searching for shops, and viewing events is completely free with no account required. Shop owners can also list their stores for free — basic listings never cost anything.
How many shops are in the directory?
We have 3,650+ verified card shops across all 50 US states, Washington DC, and all Canadian provinces. The database is updated regularly with new shops and corrections.
How do I add my card shop?
Email us at hello@coastaldirectoryllc.com with your shop name, address, phone, website, hours, and services offered. Or visit our submissions page for details. Standard listings are free and typically published within 48 hours.
How do I report a closed or incorrect shop?
Email hello@coastaldirectoryllc.com with "Correction" in the subject line. Tell us the shop name and what's wrong, and we'll fix or remove it right away.
PSA/BGS grading
What is PSA/BGS?
PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) and BGS (Beckett Grading Services) are two of the largest third-party card grading services, alongside SGC. A graded card is professionally authenticated and assigned a condition grade on a 1–10 scale (a PSA 10 or BGS 9.5 "Gem Mint" is the top tier), then sealed in a tamper-evident holder called a slab. See our full grading guide for more.
Can I drop off cards at a local shop for PSA/BGS grading?
Yes — many card shops are authorized PSA and BGS submission centers. They batch submissions together, handle shipping, and return your graded cards to you. Browse our card shop directory and use the PSA/BGS filter to find participating shops near you.
How long does PSA/BGS grading take?
Turnaround depends on your service tier, from a few weeks for Walk-Through to several months for Economy. Your local drop-off shop will give you a current estimate.
What is an autograph (auto) card?
An autograph card carries a signature from the player or artist. When that signature is authenticated by a grading service — for example PSA/DNA or Beckett Authentication — and sealed in a slab, buyers can trust it's genuine. A verified, graded autograph usually carries a premium over an unauthenticated one.
Card shows & conventions
What events are listed in the directory?
We list card shows, conventions, collector club meetings, card valuation days, and other hobby gatherings across the US and Canada. All events are categorized by features like PSA/BGS on-site grading, dealer floors, and appraisals.
How do I find card shows near me?
Visit our events page and filter by state or province. You can also filter by features like PSA/BGS on-site grading, dealer floors, or card valuations to find exactly the type of event you're looking for.
How do I submit my card show or convention?
Email hello@coastaldirectoryllc.com with the event name, venue, city/state, dates, admission price, website, and any special features. We'll verify and list it at no cost.
Search and filters
Can I search by ZIP code?
Yes. Enter your ZIP code (or city/state) in the search box on the homepage or shops page and we'll filter the directory accordingly.
What does the "Use my location" button do?
It uses your browser's geolocation to detect your state and automatically filter the shop list. Your location is never stored or transmitted to us — it's only used to set the filter in your browser.
Can I filter by services like trading cards or PSA/BGS drop-off?
Yes. Both the shops and events pages have filter pills for the most common services: Sports cards, trading cards, PSA/BGS drop-off, appraisals, and more. You can combine filters with state and country selections.
